1954 – the MRRC Slot Racing History starts!

Many years before electric model car racing was little more than a dream - Alban Adams, better known as »Mr. Model Car« of Bournemouth - one of the triumvirate of pioneer model car enthusiasts formed Model Road Racing Cars Ltd. in 1954!

As a leading company in Rail Racing MRRC started by  introducing new developments for Slot Racing. MRRC was one of the first to introduce products such as Bevel Gears, Nylon Guides, Competition Chassis, Super Racing 3 or 5 Pole Motors and a complete range of race proven tuning parts.

MRRC were the first to introduce variable speed control incooperating automatic braking! Before the appearance of the famous Clubman Special Controllers the »Barrel type« had been the choice of champions and were used by 80% of Slot Racing Enthusiasts all over the World in the early sixties.

Another first for slot racing was the MRRC Four Wheel Drive car kits, such as the Indi-Novi Ferguson. The 4WD models, equipped with Ball Race bearings, 5 pole Motor and Ackerman Steering, are still rated by collectors as an all time great!

For Model Car Competition and Clubsport Racing needs the »CLUBMAN SPECIAL« range, offering a comprehensive line of quality components and cars, was introduced in the late sixties.
